Privacy Policy
KringP Cortex is a voice-first home for your family's stories — diary recordings, memory vaults, and a personal assistant that answers from your own life. Because you trust us with the most personal things you own — your voice, your memories, your family's stories — this policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what control you have. 1. What we collect
- Account information: your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password. We verify your email with a one-time code at signup.
- Content you create: voice and video recordings, their transcripts, diary entries, vault contents, meeting recordings and summaries, and story-prompt answers.
- Voice profiles: if you choose voice cloning, a reference recording of the voice and the explicit recorded consent of the voice's owner (see §4).
- Technical information: device type, app version, and basic diagnostic logs needed to keep the service running. We do not use advertising trackers.
- Payment information: subscriptions are processed by Stripe (web) or Apple / Google (mobile). We receive confirmation of your subscription status — never your card number.
2. Sensitive information
KringP Cortex offers vaults for health, finance, family, and other personal topics. We treat everything in your vaults as sensitive: it is encrypted in transit, access-controlled per vault, never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to train models. Our service is not a healthcare, financial, or legal provider — see the Terms of Service for the professional-advice disclaimer.
3. How your voice and memories are processed
All transcription, transcript correction, and assistant ("Cortex") answers run on open-weight AI models on servers we operate ourselves. Your recordings and transcripts are never sent to third-party AI providers (no OpenAI, Google, or similar APIs). Your content is used only to provide the service to you — never for advertising, and never to train shared models.
4. Voice cloning and consent
Voice cloning is entirely optional and consensual. A voice can only be cloned after the voice's owner records an explicit spoken consent, which we retain. You may only clone your own voice or the voice of someone who has clearly consented. Cloning another person's voice without consent is a violation of our Terms and may be unlawful.
5. Sharing
You control sharing: vaults are private by default, and you may grant specific people access to specific vaults. We disclose personal information only when: you direct us to (sharing, export); we need a service provider to operate the service (hosting, payments — bound by confidentiality); or the law requires it. We never sell your personal information.
6. Where your data lives
Your data is stored on servers we operate in France (European Union), with encrypted backups. If you are in Canada or elsewhere, this means your information is transferred outside your country. We protect it with contractual and technical safeguards that meet or exceed Canadian (PIPEDA) requirements, including the EU's strong data-protection standards that apply where the servers sit.
7. How long we keep data
We keep your content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account — in the app under Settings, or by emailing us — we permanently delete your recordings, transcripts, vaults, voice profiles, and account data, including from backups within 90 days. Anonymized diagnostic logs may be retained briefly for security.
8. Your rights
You may at any time: access a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, export your content, withdraw consent, or delete your account and data. To exercise these rights, use the in-app controls or email privacy@kringp-cortex.com — we respond within 30 days. If you remain unsatisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
9. Children and family
You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. If a recording includes a minor's voice, you confirm you are their parent or guardian or have the guardian's permission. Voice cloning of a minor requires verifiable parental consent.
10. Security
We protect your data with TLS encryption in transit, hardened servers, strict per-vault access controls enforced in our database (not just in the app), and limited staff access. No system is perfect — if we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
11. Cookies
Our website sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers. The mobile app stores your login tokens securely on your own device and nowhere else.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
