Terms of Service
These terms form a contract between you and KringP for your use of the KringP Cortex app, website, and API (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
2. The Service
KringP Cortex lets you record voice and video diary entries, organizes them into private vaults (Relationship, Family, Health, Finance, Work, Legacy, and custom vaults), transcribes them, and offers a personal assistant ("Cortex") that answers questions from your own entries. Vaults are private by default; you may share specific vaults with people you choose.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Premium costs $3.99 USD per month, billed in advance on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- On the web, payments are processed by Stripe. On iOS and Android, subscriptions are sold through Apple App Store / Google Play in-app purchase and are subject to their terms.
- Cancellation: cancel anytime from your account settings (or via the App Store / Play Store for mobile subscriptions). You keep Premium until the end of the paid period; we do not prorate partial months.
- Refunds: mobile subscription refunds are handled by Apple / Google under their policies. Web subscription refunds are considered case by case — contact support@kringp-cortex.com.
- We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice; the new price applies from your next renewal.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break the law; upload content you have no right to share; record or clone another person's voice without their clear consent; attempt to access other users' private vaults; abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service; or use the Service to harm, harass, or mislead others.
5. Voice cloning consent
Voice cloning requires the explicit recorded consent of the voice's owner, verified before any clone is created. You may clone your own voice, or another adult's voice only with their clear permission; cloning a minor's voice requires verifiable parental consent. We may remove voice profiles that violate this rule and suspend accounts that do.
6. Your content
You own your recordings, transcripts, and entries. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the Service: storing, transcribing, and displaying your content back to you and people you share it with. We claim no ownership and use your content for no other purpose.
7. Not professional advice
KringP Cortex is a personal memory tool, not a healthcare, financial, or legal service. Nothing in the app — including assistant answers or meeting summaries — is professional advice. Consult a qualified professional for decisions about health, money, or law.
8. Intellectual property
The KringP Cortex app, branding, and underlying software are owned by KringP and protected by intellectual-property law. These terms grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Service — not ownership of it.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account (or by emailing us), which permanently erases your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Either way, §§6–8 and §§10–13 survive.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is". We work hard for accuracy — transcription, summaries, and assistant answers can contain errors, so please verify anything important. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KringP's liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify KringP against claims arising from your content or your violation of these terms (including cloning a voice without consent).
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
14. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept them.
